    1. You'll need a stiff buttercream. If you think your buttercream is thick enough, go ahead and stir in more sifted powdered sugar. You should be able to caulk your shower with it. THICK.
    2. If the buttercream is too soft the buds will stay closed and will fold. Put it in the fridge to help
    3. To start, spread a thin layer of frosting onto the cupcake/cake with an offset spatula. This will help the piped flowers stick...and it also creates a prettier surface.
    4. Begin piping in the center with one flower. Then go around the edges. Squeeze the piping bag and pull up in a quick burst, releasing the pressure. Shorter flowers are better.
    5. Using multiple colors in one pastry bag looks great!
    6. Use the leaf nozzles included to fill in the gaps 


      READY IN:
       3 1/2 cups


      • 1cup shortening
      • 1cup real butter
      • 1 1teaspoons clear vanilla extract
      • dash salt (optional)
      • cups confectioners' sugar
      • 2 -3 tablespoons milk


      1. Cream butter and shortening then add vanilla.
      2. Add sugar a cup at a time beating on medium speed.
      3. Add milk 1 Tbls. at a time and beat on high until completely blended.
      4. TIP: To cut the sweetness I usually sprinkle some salt in the vanilla (so it will dissolve) before proceeding with recipe as instructed.
